Pool Opens Today

After discussion among the HOA Board and Goodwin Management regarding COVID-19 precautions as well as homeowner feedback, the HOA Board has decided to open the Copperfield Townhomes pool and cabana area on Saturday, May 30.

The following rules have been implemented for the pool this year:

  • Individuals using the pool facilities are responsible for cleaning the areas they have used after they visit the pool. This includes pool furniture, restrooms, doorknobs, handrails and any other items you have physically touched.
  • Pool users need to provide their own cleaning supplies for cleaning their area after each use.
  • The HOA  will NOT be provide cleaning for the common areas of the pool beyond emptying the garbage cans.
  • Residents and guests use these facilities at their own risk and bear full responsibility for their own health and safety. By opening this email and using the pool you acknowledge agreement with these terms and conditions.
  • Goodwin Management has recommended pool capacity be limited to 25%. Because we have no way to monitor the number of people in the pool enclosure, it is up to homeowners to act in a responsible manner and respect the space needs of others in the area.

Please remember:

  • The pool is for use by Copperfield Townhomes Owners and Residents only. Guests must be accompanied by an Owner or Resident at all times.
  • Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Pool is open dawn to midnight. Please be respectful of the immediate neighbors and keep noise levels minimal.
  • Do not provide access to the pool to non-residents. If you see non-residents using the pool, please take photos and report it to the property manager through the website.

Complete Pool Rules are posted in the pool area and listed at the bottom of this email.

Sincerely,
Copperfield Townhomes HOA Board of Directors

HOA Update

1. May HOA Board Meeting via Teleconference
We are working with Goodwin to schedule a teleconference for the May HOA Board meeting later this month. We will provide details when available.

2. Copperfield swimming pool is closed
Typically our community swimming pool opens on Memorial Day weekend. Unfortunately, due to the current COVID-19 social distancing recommendations we will not be able to do that this year. In making this decision we are following directives from Dallas County as well as guidance from Goodwin. Because our pool it is not monitored, we have no way to ensure the number of people in the pool and cabana area, and this is a potential liability for the Association. We will continue to follow the recommendations from City and County Health authorities related to public pools and advise you of any changes.

3. Roofing and Skylights
The roofing and skylight project is proceeding as scheduled. The roofing portion was completed last week. Work is already completed on approximately 1/3 of the skylights that need to be replaced. Skylights for the remaining homes have been ordered and will be installed as soon as product is delivered. This work is all covered under the insurance claim from storms in 2018 and 2019.

4. Car break-ins in the neighborhood
Our Volunteers In Patrol (VIP) Team has learned from the Dallas Police Department that car break-ins have been on the rise recently. In the past few weeks several cars have been broken into in the Zero Lot Line homes area of Copperfield and in Fair Oaks Crossing to our west. Click here for tips on how to protect your vehicle. To learn more about VIP or volunteer to patrol our neighborhood, click here.

Roofing and Skylight Update

Just three weeks since the roofing project began and we all now have new roofs!

As you have seen, Classic has had a large crew on site and they have made rapid progress.

Skylight replacement is currently underway. If your skylight was found to be damaged, earlier this week you should have received an email from Classic advising you of the timing for replacement of your skylight.

Work is already completed on approximately 1/3 of the skylights that need to be replaced. Skylights for the remaining homes have been ordered and will be installed as soon as product is delivered.
